Are You Confident? These 4 Signs Say You're Not As Accepting of Your Body As You Might Think
When an article pops up on your newsfeed about how to become more confident in your body, you might opt out of reading it because you think you've got this whole body positivity thing down. You treat your body well and you never call yourself fat, so you think you're in the clear. But there are underlying issues that you may not associate with bad body image.
Here are 4 signs you're not as accepting of your body as you think you are.
1. You compare yourself to others.
You have a hard time realizing that what you have and what someone else has can never be the same. That celebrity has better hair than you, that athlete has better abs. It's important not to fixate on what others have, but appreciate what you have.
2. You put down others based on their physical appearance.
You find yourself critiquing everyone around you. That person has big legs, that one has thin hair. This could be masking the insecurities you have about yourself.
3. You're constantly working towards change.
You reach a goal and then create another one without a breath between. You never take the time to appreciate what reaching that one goal provided you, and so nothing is quite good enough.
4. You hate bikini season.
You've decided that fall is much more your season. But is it really because of the weather, or because you've given up on accepting yourself sans layers?
Do you relate to any of these?
