Ashtanga Sun Salutation B
This Sun Salutation B series continues from where the post on Ashtanga Sun Salutation A left off.
Traditionally, the A series is performed 5 times followed immediately by the B series for another 5 rounds, though you are free to practice as many (or as few) Sun Salutations as you wish.
The following Sun Salutation B is from the Ashtanga yoga method:
Starting in Mountain Pose
Inhale and raise your arms above your head and sink into Chair Pose
Inhale and lift your heart into half forward fold
Exhale all the way down to chaturanga
Inhale into upward facing dog
Exhale into downward facing dog
Inhale, and throughout the inhale bring your right foot in between your hands, raise your arms over your head and lunge into Warrior 1
Exhale and place your hands on either side of your right foot and lower into chaturanga
Inhale into upward facing dog
Exhale into downward facing dog
As you inhale, bring your left foot in between your hands, raise your are over your head and settle into Warrior 1
Exhale and place your hands on either side of your left foot and lower into chaturanga
Inhale into upward facing dog
Exhale into downward facing dog
Hold downward facing dog for 5 full, steady breaths
1....2....3....4....5....
Step forward to the top of the mat into half forward fold
And exhale into forward fold
Inhale bringing your arms over your head
And exhale while bringing your hands down together in prayer to your heart then down to your sides for Mountain pose
Repeat 5 times
