Battle of the Booties

January 28, 2014 1 min read

It wasn’t too long ago that JLo was the reining queen of ass.  JLo pushed people into accepting a very different body shape then the model norm.  She has never been afraid to flaunt her body and has shirked society’s love affair with the pencil shape.  But society is notoriously hard to change.  We like what we like and we rarely apologize for it.  Butts are something though that's hard to ignore, especially one like JLo's.  I'm not sure anyone would say no to having a butt like that. jennifer-lopez-idol-jan-01   Then there's Queen Bey, between the two of them, they have made the butt into a fashion accessory. beyonce Occasionally there are those that are capable of being accepted into the fold through either beauty or talent or controversy.  They become too popular to ignore and eventually we accept them.  Ergo when Kim Kardashian took it up a whole new level with a butt that has it's own gravity vortex. tumblr_static_kim-kardashian-huge-ass So where do we go from here?  Are the big butts now something that's socially acceptable?  Are we moving onto a perpetual cycle of:  "Mine's bigger, mine's bigger" or are we, as a society, becoming more accepting of other body types? As great as having a toned butt is, there's also a danger of it becoming just another crazy standard for women to have to meet in order to be perfect. Do you follow us on Instagram?
