White tea is looked at like champagne, and is made from the buds of the tea plant. It consists of the very first crop of leaves harvested each season. Green tea is very hydrating, and is well-known for its detoxifying properties as well. With half the caffeine of black tea, it is packed with catechins and polyphenols, which are two antioxidants that fight both acne as well as aging. Matcha is currently big on the scene, and is a finely ground powder that is made from whole green tea leaves. It both boosts energy as well as lowers blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and can promote glowing skin since it helps to reduce bodily toxins. Matcha can also be used as a topical treatment.
