Become A Morning Workout Person (Here's How)

Like it or not, if you want to be healthy, exercise is essential. If you have a difficult time fitting in a workout, you might want to start thinking about the morning. I know it sounds insane, especially if you value those extra minutes provided by the snooze button but if you stick with it, it will become a habit and you'll never go back. Getting your blood pumping first thing in the morning is the best way to power yourself through the day.

Get a good night's rest.

“The American Academy of Sleep Medicine just released new guidelines suggesting that 7-8 hours is the ideal for most people,” says Dr. Shelby Harris of Behavioral Sleep Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. You may think getting up earlier to exercise may screw up your sleep but it can actually do the opposite. Stop your partying, start your snoozing.

Pep talks are necessary.

Maybe your muscles ache after yesterday's session but use your mind to get yourself up. If you are having a hard time getting your head around it, start with something simple and small like a 7am yoga session. After you've mastered that, work your way up to earlier workouts with higher intensity. This is nothing you can't handle.

A better breakfast is essential.

A great benefit to adopting a healthier lifestyle is that your food transforms into delicious and useful fare. Aim for 100-200 calories 30-60 minutes before your workout and refuel after with a hit of protein. This breakfast, coupled with your workout, is all you need to keep that metabolism humming all day long.

Set the scene.

If you can't get yourself pumped to go to the gym, take your workout outside. That's my favourite move but if that isn't quite enough, join a class and get to know the other people in it. You won't get so annoyed about having to get up when you have new friends to see each morning. Best motivator going!

Killer soundtrack.

Pick a soundtrack that supports the rhythm of your workout. Try to keep the beats up though because it will inspire you to move more and sweat harder. That doesn't sound too hard. What do you do to inspire your morning workout? Share your tips with us. Source: Elite Daily
