A Beginners Guide to your first 5K

Typically when people first begin training for a race it is the 5k that they plan on running first.  The 5k or 3.106 mile race can be a fun event to compete in. Especially with runs like the Color run, Komen for the Cure Run, and the Beer Run!  For beginners, it is an easy race that will allow you to learn the ins and outs of racing.  As you advance you can work on increasing your pace and it will always allow for a challenge. If you are a beginning runner then I suggest you start following the chart below.  This will be your basic guide to go from walking to running an entire 5k. Each day gives you a total distance and the pace at which to run it. Screen Shot 2015-02-12 at 4.26.02 PM
