Benefits Of Having A Work Crush
We have all experienced some form of work drama. It comes in many forms, from stolen food from the fridge to those scandalous work flirtations. A study, published in the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy looked into what effect work crushes have on committed relationships outside of work.
They interviewed 160 women in long term relationships and 70% of those women said that they had a crush on someone in the work place.
Apparently, according to the results of this study, having a work crush can turn out to be a good thing and beneficial to your "real-world" relationship! I know what you're thinking, how is that even possible? But they found that women 'transferred' their increased sexual desire to their long-term relationship! So, instead of coming home after a long day and doing nothing there is a little bit of a spark brought forward.
BUT there is a very fine line between harmless flirting and when things start to get too serious! If a crush turns to lust you need to look at the relationship outside of the office and figure something out. After all most affairs start in the work place! But don't be afraid to have a little fun and make new friends along the way!
