Best Exercise Program for Busy Parents

Many parents put their own health on the back burner in order to try to juggle jobs, family and commitments. Even when some tired out Moms and Dads find their way into a gym, they don't see the results they want and get discouraged. For many, Zumba, CrossFit, Yoga and Spinning don't seem to be cutting it, but why?

Well, scientists have discovered that people who stuck to a supervised endurance training program didn't always see any change. 20% of these people saw no change in their level of fitness and 30% saw no change in insulin sensitivity. OK, let's not just blame the program. Many people have seen results with fitness classes. One of the main keys to success when it comes to training stressed out parents seems to boil down to time commitment.

This is why HIIT training is quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of exercise for parents. In as little as 4 minutes a day, people have seen dramatic improvements in their overall health including aerobic and anaerobic capabilities, as well as their lean muscle mass.

In fact, Loughborough University is leading a team of scientists from around the world who are recruiting hundreds of volunteers to help study high intensity interval training. The main purpose of the project is to find out which genetic and body types benefit the most from HIIT training.
