The BEST Thanksgiving Turkey
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it! Do you have your turkey recipe in mind?
Here's a great one to try this year that is sure to please your whole family!
Ingredients
- 1 Whole Turkey (15lbs.)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened at room temp
- 2 quarts chicken broth
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 stalks of celery, chopped
- 3 large carrots, chopped
- 2 tbsp dried parsley
- 2 tbsp dried thyme
- 2 tbsp dried sage
- kosher salt (to taste)
- cracked black pepper (to taste)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Remove the turkey neck and giblets.
- Rinse the turket and then pat dry with a paper towel. Place in your roasting pan to prepare.
- Mix herbs into the butter, stirring well.
- Start rubbing the skin with the butter/herb mixture.
- Salt/Pepper the turkey, as needed or to your desired liking.
- Pour 2 cups of chicken broth into the pan.
- Place aluminum foil over the turkey & pan, then place inside the oven to bake for 3.5-4 hours or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thigh reads at least 180 degrees. Also-keep basting every so often with the pan juice to keep the turkey moist and delicious!
- Remove and set aside until ready to carve!
