Body Image: Why John Glaude Loves the Skin He's In
A man drops from 360 to 200lbs after months of hard work, diet and working out. He must look and feel great, right?
Not entirely. Extreme weight-loss can open a whole new can of worms when it comes to body image. A video released by John Glaude - the creator of ObesetoBeast Fitness, recently revealed his most self-conscious insecurity since losing the weight - loose skin.
His video instantly went viral. It was shared on Reddit, Cosmopolitan, Muscle and Fitness and more, gaining a ton of positive feedback from viewers. In the video, John reveals each segment of his loose skin from chest to stomach to legs.
He admits that his body doesn't look "ideal," but urges viewers to understand that he feels 100% better about his body than he did when he was obese. He encourages people struggling with emotional eating to not let anything - including loose skin - hold them back from realizing their fitness goals.
His struggle may or may not resinate with you, but his message resinates with all of us: don't let insecurities hold you back from reaching your goals.
If you find yourself needing a little pre-winter body image encouragement, just read one of the thousands of comments posted below his video. Or better yet, pass some inspiration on to a friend. Sometimes, a little encouragement is all you need to keep you on the right track. John tells us what all the kind words mean to him:
