What Are Boobs Actually Made Of?

July 16, 2015 1 min read

It's one of those thoughts you may have in the shower or as you try to fall asleep. "What are boobs made of?" You fully intend to Google it before it gets sent to the back of your mind. Well we're here to answer your most pressing boob (...) question! What are boobs made of? Boobs are very complex and intricate parts of our body. Their primary purpose is to produce and carry milk, so within them is a specially designed milk transmission system. Small lobes and even smaller lobules are the tiny passages that milk goes through until it reaches the nipple. boobs womens health Surrounding the milk highway is protective fatty tissue. Fatty tissue is what makes certain breasts larger and others smaller. The amount of fatty tissue within a woman's breast can also depend on her age. Post menopausal women tend to have less, while younger women have more. Behind your boobs sits a muscle called the pectoralis which keeps them separate from your ribs. There are also little arteries and capillaries which help keep blood flowing through your boobs. Did you know that scientists aren't sure why women have full boobs all the time? Primates breasts only are full when they are nursing, but become small and flat when not filled with milk. But for human females, our girls are always full. What are your thoughts?
