Booty Busting Series--Best Exercises to Build that Butt #13: Single Leg Romanian Deadlift

Talk about kicking the intensity up a notch! The Single Leg Romanian Deadlift is a great exercise for your hamstrings, glutes, lower back, and quads, and you'll find your lower body will be drained after doing this exercise correctly. For this exercise, instead of using dumbbells (like most people do), you're going to use the cable machine. This will help to load your glutes through the middle and top ranges of the exercise. Dumbbells are most effective on the bottom range (when you're bent over), but the cable forces the glutes to work through a greater range of the exercise. Single Leg Romanian Deadlift with Cable

Stand with your feet together, your hands gripping the cable machine, and most of your weight on your right leg. Bend forward, extending your left leg behind you as your arms are extended with the cable. Once you have reached the bottom of your range, use your glutes and lower back muscles to stand back up--bringing the left leg down to the floor and pulling the cable to your chest. Repeat as desired with both legs.
