Booty Busting Series--Best Exercises to Build that Butt #3: Platform Lunges

Lunges are one of the best lower body exercises, as they focus on your quads, your hamstrings, and, most importantly, your glutes. While it's not a glute-centric exercise, doing lunges is a great way to tone up your booty while hitting your legs hard. Adding a platform into the lunge will actually help to focus the exercise more on your glutes, particularly the lower gluteal muscles. You'll have a great range of motion, and you'll find that the challenging exercise will activate the muscle fibers in your glutes--leading to rockin' booty growth! Platform Lunges

Stand on a platform, with either a barbell in the Back Squat position (resting behind your neck) or a dumbbell or kettlebell in each hand. Step forward into the lunge, placing your foot on the floor. You'll feel the extra dip in your glutes as you drop into the lunge, and keep going down until your thigh is parallel to the floor. Repeat this exercise as desired, and prepare to feel the burn!
