Born With A Brain Tumor: How This Baby's Short Life Has Changed Everything

Erika and Stephen Jones were hit with some difficult news during a routine ultrasound for their second child, Abigail. The little infant would be born with Down Syndrome, a condition which would impact her learning ability and behaviour. Her parents were slightly concerned, but knew that she would be loved all the same. baby girl born with brain tumor It wasn't until their final ultrasound that things took a much more fatal turn. The news they received was unbearable at first. The couple will never forget that moment. down syndrome birth “At our 30 week ultrasound, our doctor discovered that a mass had developed in the left hemisphere of Abigail’s brain.” Erika explains. The mass was a tumor, and as far as doctors could tell, it was inoperable. After Abigail was born, it was confirmed that the mass was too aggressive to treat. The couple had two choices - 1. dwell in the tragedy of their impending loss or 2. live every moment with little Abigail until she passes on.
