Boxing Workout: Count-Up, Count-Down

Beating a punching bag is a whole lot of fun, and it's great for both cardio and endurance training. You can warm up your muscles nicely, and you'll feel the burn within just a few short minutes Here's a great high intensity boxing workout to get your heart pumping, your muscles working, and your blood flowing:

Count-Up, Count-Down

Get out your boxing gloves and punching bag, because it's time to get hitting!

Start with Punch #1 - the Jab:100_2713

Repeat Punch #1, and add #2 - the Cross: 100_2714

Repeat #1 and #2, and add #3 - the Left Hook: 100_2716

Repeat #1, #2, #3, and add #4 - the Cross again: 100_2714

Repeat #1 - #4, and add #5 - Jab: 100_2713

You get the idea!
  • #6 = Cross
  • #7 = Left Hook
  • #8 = Cross
  • #9 = Jab
  • #10 = Cross
Every time you add a new punch, you start from #1 and go through all of the motions. Do this until you reach #10, and start doing it backwards:
  • #1 through #10
  • #1 through #9
  • #1 through #8
and so on, until you finish at #1. Do this exercise at full power and speed, and your arms are going to be burning by the time you finish the 100+ punches. For endurance/cardio training, it doesn't get much more enjoyable than this!
