Break Your Unhealthy Drunk Habits With These 7 Hacks
Most of us have been known to indulge in a few adult beverages every now and then. It is common, especially for millennials, to go out and dance, drink and maybe head to a pizza place at 2 am to binge on a large with extra cheese. But all of these habits can catch up with you and lead to weight gain, bloating, blood sugar spikes and overall feelings of regret the next day. Here are 7 hacks you need to know to break your unhealthy drunk habits!

#1 Eat A Real Dinner
Eating a larger dinner before heading out for the night will help your body absorb alcohol easier so you don't get that need for greasy fast food once you leave the bar. Make sure your meal is heavy with protein, good fats and veggies to keep you satisfied and properly fuelled for your night of adventuring.#2 Bring Cash
A lot of bars don't take debit, and you will wind up giving extravagant tips to the ATM when you're low on funds. Also, cabs usually charge a fee of at least $2 or more for using debit and credit in their vehicle. So taking cash with you will save your bank account from being totally empty the next morning.#3 Download An App
Ever wish your phone knew when you were sloshed so you didn't drunk text your ex? Well, someone has invented an app for that! The app is called DrunkDial and it forces you to take a sobriety text before you send all those heart emojis or that really bad selfie you thought was a really good selfie. You simply make a list of people you don't want your drunk self to contact and DrunkDial will take care of the rest.#4 Keep Healthy Food In Your House
Before going out for a binge-drinking night, load your fridge with easy snacks to grab that are healthy and yummy. Get rid of the boxes of mac and cheese or instant noodles and replace them with cut up veggies and dip, yogurt, hummus and fresh fruit. You'll feel better that you went ham on a tub of probiotic yogurt than a tub of ice cream!#5 Go Straight To Bed
Get home and grab yourself a massive bottle of water and a healthy snack and hightail it to bed! This will save you a whole lot of mistakes, like emotional voicemails with your ex or drunkenly interior decorating your roommate's bedroom when they're away for the weekend.#6 Have Your Friend Take Your Phone
What's better than being embarrassing on social media all night? Having your friend bodyguard your phone so drunk-you can't screw anything up! Hand over your phone to your best bud and have her hang onto it until the next morning. Also, give her pointers about how to handle certain scenarios. Such as, if she spots you heading towards the convenience store for a giant slushy at 3:30 am, have her toss your drunk butt in a cab and call it a night.#7 Know Your Limit
The one thing I've learned about being an adult is how to tell when I've had too much to drink. Someone who is completely wasted (ei. more wasted than the rest of the group) can be a burden to go out with frequently. Learn about your body and what is a responsible level of drunk for you, and stick with that. Don't make your friends suffer through babysitting you all night and don't risk alcohol poisoning or a serious emergency! What are some drunk habits you need to change? Share your thoughts with us!
