How To Burn an Additional 300-500 Calories a Day Without Much Effort
Here are some easy tips to get you to burn some extra calories without much added effort.
If you watch your favorite TV shows on a daily basis - then start using the time more wisely. Get up every commercial and walk around, do jumping jacks, stretch, vacuum, MOVE - you get the drift.
Or spend your TV time folding laundry - and do it standing to expend a few more calories.
Drink ice water all day long - it burns about 70 extra calories per day.
Sweep your house while listening to your favorite tunes for 5 minutes each day.
I recommend using the stairs ALL the time. Use them instead of elevators every chance you get. That adds very littletime to your day and can burn extra calories. It amazes me how many people use an elevator to go ONE flight of stairs. Seriously?! Talk about lazy!
Park your car a block away if it is safe to do so. A block from work, the store, the mall, the pharmacy, etc, you get the idea. Get the farthest parking spot from any place you go so you have to walk extra steps each day. These extra steps add up over time. Go down to your local sporting goods store (or even a Walmart) and buy a 10 pound weight belt. Wear it everywhere during the day. This can really help melt fat and calories off your body. No joke! You can wear one around your waist, under your clothes without anyone noticing (Ok some outfits might show it, but if you live in a colder climate like me it is easy to hide under those sweaters). You can use the same weight belt on some of Lisa’s HIIT Max workouts too.Stuck in an office all day? Set your alarm on your phone to go off every hour, stand up and take at least 50 steps, or do 10 jumping jacks and stretch.
These few things alone can trim 300 to 500 calories a day from your waistline. That is between 3 and 5 pounds a month and more than 15 pounds by bathing suit season! Now this does not mean you should pig out more. Remember - exercise is not an excuse to eat. If that worked, so many more of us would be fit and trim.
