Bananas and avocados, two things you usually don’t see together in a recipe let alone a dessert. But consequently they are two items that mix very well together. When you mash bananas with avocados it makes a sort of pudding like consistency, I wasn’t the first one to think of making this mixture into a chocolate pudding but I did create my own recipe. This is a perfect dessert for vegans who don’t want to give up chocolate mousse or chocolate pudding. This is also a super easy dessert to make; it only requires a few ingredients and takes less than 10 minutes to make. This avocado/banana pudding is a much healthier way to get your dessert fix. It doesn’t have any refined sugar only agave. Also no animals were harmed in the making of this pudding and no animal by-products were used either. You will need: 1 avocado 1 banana 3 tbsp cacao powder, unsweetened (can use cocoa powder if you don’t have cacao) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tbsp agave Preparation Procedures: 1. Combine avocado and banana in food processor (or blender) and grind until a smooth mixture. 2. Add cacao powder, vanilla and agave and grind again. 3. Serve and enjoy. You can also place this in the refrigerator and save it for later. This pudding makes about 2 cups or 2 servings, if you are throwing a party or making the pudding for more than 2 people feel free to double or triple the recipe. The best part about this dessert is the main ingredients are so good for you so you can pig out and not feel guilty afterward. Avocados are a good source of fiber, potassium and vitamin C. They also have high levels of vitamins B, K and E. Avocados are high in oleric acid which has been shown to prevent breast cancer. Bananas on the other hand are a great source of potassium, vitamin B6 and manganese. Bananas are a great source of fiber, there is 3 grams of fiber in a medium banana and one-third of that fiber is soluble fiber, by eating bananas you can lower your risk of heart disease. Next time you are craving a super chocolaty and rich dessert grab an avocado and a banana and make some delicious, healthy, vegan pudding. You will get your dessert fix and not feel bad afterward.
