Carrie Underwood Reveals the Secrets to Her Post-Baby Body

Everyone has their own expectations when it comes to how they want to look and feel post-baby. For Carrie Underwood, she knew being happy, healthy and in shape were important to her. She also had a career to bounce back into, and wanted to make sure she had optimum energy. And when you take a look at the singing sensation and clothing designer, it's pretty spectacular how taught, toned and absolutely glowing she looks as a new mom. So what are her secrets? Carrie Underwood reveals her post-baby secrets for getting in shape. "I will take any type of workout I can get, whenever I can get it," Underwood, 32, says. “For me, it’s the key to being happy and healthy. Though it’s difficult to find spare time these days.” With a busy schedule that includes promoting her album Storyteller, hosting the Country Music Awards on November 4, and designing her new line of workout wear, CALIA, along with being a mother to her 10-month-old son, it's pretty impressive that she fits it all in. On getting back into gear post-baby, Underwood says, "After I had Isaiah, my goal was to take control of my body again. I was lucky: I gained only 30 pounds, which is the recommended amount, and I exercised throughout my pregnancy. I did have a C-section, which meant waiting six weeks before working out. Within 10 days, though, I was able to begin walking slowly on the treadmill and around my neighborhood. It felt so good to be active! When I got the OK from my doctor, I started exercising with my trainer. Now we box and we hike trails, among other things. I like to continually mix up my routines to stay motivated. But my favorite workout is Tabata, which I can do at home in about a half hour. I’m in love with it! It’s hard, but it really works. I choose seven different exercises, like squats, lunges, or push- ups, and do eight rounds of each—20 seconds on, 20 seconds off for eight rounds. It really revs up my metabolism. When I’m done, I can handle anything." Here are her tips for getting motivated, getting in shape, and making time to relax. On wearing clothes that make her feel confident and motivated she says, "Since I exercise almost every day, I like wearing clothes that look just as good on the street as they do at the gym. I've always been an athletic-wear fanatic, but everything I owned was either super-functional and not cute, or really frilly and not right for my workout. I need exercise clothing that I can actually work out in but that also looks great if I meet a friend for coffee afterward. That's why I created Calia with Dick's Sporting Goods. And now I wear it everywhere." On belly fat she says, "I'm vegan and I love bread, but recently, I started making dinner a breadless meal. I'll have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, and I'll make a sandwich on Ezekiel bread for lunch, but in the evening I'll have protein and vegetables and no bread. When I wake up, my belly is flat!" On finding chill time she says, "I think it's so important to sit quietly every day for 10 minutes. In the morning, I enjoy my cup of coffee and plan the day in my head to be ready for it. We want you to start your fitness journey with us as quickly as possible, that’s why we send every package to the USA & Canada via expedited or standard shipping with our partners at UPS. Once your order is received and processed, it typically takes 2-4 days to get to you once it leaves our warehouse. That’s our commitment and we stand by it.

We ship within Canada and the United States via UPS with Standard & Expedited shipping (whichever is faster)

For locations outside of the US and Canada, we ship using FedEx International (EUROPE and Other Nations), which is usually in transit for 7-10 business days, depending on location.

We ship all of our physical products with UPS, from our warehouse location in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Delays caused due to custom withholds are not included in these estimated delivery times.

Returns & Exchanges

BodyRock Equipment

We offer a 30-day return policy, as long as: it is not more than 30 days past the date of delivery; and your item is in its original condition and packaging with the original order number. Refunds will be issued when the equipment is received back to the BodyRock warehouse, minus the original cost of shipping, and the customer is responsible for the costs of return shipping. To request a refund on physical product purchases, please contact us.

Digital Products

We cannot issue refunds on digital goods such as e-books or videos, as these are non-tangible goods that are irrevocable once the order is placed.
