Celebrity Diet and Fitness Tips That Aren't Crazy

December 09, 2013 2 min read

Every day you can find a new article on how some celebrity lost a ton of weight using some crazy new diet trick. Then of course a couple months later you'll see an article on that same celebrity and how they've gained all that weight back. But sometimes, the diet tricks that celebrities use aren't so crazy, and are actually good advice. The trick is keeping up with your new healthy habit. So, what celebrity diet and fitness tricks are the ones you should be following? Check out these healthy tips below. kirst2[1] Kirstie Alley lost 100 pounds when she was on dancing with the stars, proving that finding a fun and active hobby is one of the keys to shedding those extra pounds. Alley may be famous for her big weigh losses, but she is also famous for her big weight gains. The trick  is to find an activity you like and that you will stick with for the long run. Getting active will help you lose the weight, and staying active will help you keep it off.   richards-d-main[1] In an interview with Self magazine Denise Richards cited Pilates, dancing, and several smaller meals throughout the day as the key to staying fit. Richards cites the core foods of her diet as "fruit, veggies, egg whites, oatmeal, a little chicken, eggs, and rice. The take away from this? Find an activity you like and eat sensibly. Richards didn't get her body from a bottle of pills or any crazy fasting diets, she got it from real food. gwyneth-paltrow-premiere-thanks-for-sharing-04[1] It seems Gwyneth Paltrow is always being linked to some sort of new diet trick, but the one thing that stays consistent in her bag of tricks is good old exercise. Paltrow works out for two hours a day, and while that may be a bit to much for most of us to fit into our schedule, the take away here is exercise consistency. Paltrow also has a great tip for fitting exercise into your routine on a regular basis... wake up early to fit exercise in before you day even starts. kristen_bell_6[1]Kristen Bell told Good Housekeeping magazine that when she hangs out with friends, she tried to make it something active, "something that's social, but also gives you a workout." Some great activities to do with friends can include pain ball, walking the dogs on the beach, a hike, rock climbing etc. So, the next time your friend asks if you want to get together for lunch, ask about making it a picnic lunch at the top of a mountain. There are a lot of other great diet tips from celebrities (mixed in between all the fad cleanses and shakes) and a lot of celebrities  including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, and Khloe Kardashian cite moderation with food. What we can learn from all this, is that no matter how many fad diets we hear about, the real secret to lasting health and fitness is moderation when it comes to what you put in your mouth, and consistency when it comes to activity. So, if you've tried celebrity diets before and didn't have any luck, try these tried and true celebrity diet secrets instead.
