How Celebs Are Encouraging Teens To Get Plastic Surgery

The selfie-fuelled world of celebrities is having a negative impact on young girls. This generation is seeing an increase in the rates of plastic surgery, as teens want to emulate the bodies and faces of their favourite stars. The "rise of selfies" is what The 2014 Annual American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Survey blamed on the boost in lip injections, nose jobs and boob implants. When Photoshop and Instagram filters aren't enough, girls turn to altering their physicality. [bctt tweet="How Celebs Are Encouraging Teens To Get Plastic Surgery"] Kylie Jenner is among the group of young celebs in the spotlight who are changing the face of beauty, for the worst. Her selfie obsessions and plastic pout has driven her fans to try and create their own perfectly sculpted face. It has also been speculated that Kylie's butt and breasts have been surgically enhanced. The Jenner/Kardashian clan is one of the most famous families in the world, and are no strangers to plastic surgery. Even model Gisele Bundchen, who was a long standing advocate for natural beauty, has been spotted getting clinical breast and face lifts. It is ironic that there is more of a push than ever for embracing one's born-this-way beauty at the same time there is a boom in teens getting cosmetic treatments. What are your thoughts? Should celebs in the spotlight stop promoting false beauty ideals? Source: NY Post
