Cheating Website 'Ashley Madison' Has Been Hacked!
Ashley Madison is the name of a dating website that allows married people to cheat on their unsuspecting partners. Now the website has been taken siege by hackers who claim they will release the names of all the cheaters!
“Life is short. Have an affair." is the slogan for the website which has nearly 37 million daily users. The hackers have supposedly stolen data from the site, according to the website's spokesperson.
“We are working with law enforcement agencies, which are investigating this criminal act.” explains Ashley Madison's spokesperson.
The reason for the hack has come down to the site's "Full Delete" option. Apparently, the hackers were displeased with the fact that the site did not fully delete the users information, despite the $19 fee. A user's anonymity could be thwarted even after deleting their account because their credit card records and other personal details were still traceable to the site. The hackers are viewing themselves as being helpful in taking down Ashley Madison for it's flawed system.
What will this mean for all the unfaithful users whose information may be released to the public? Perhaps an increase in business for divorce lawyers and couples therapy retreats?
Some of the millions of users have already had their dirty laundry aired by the hackers, with millions more to come.
