Cow to Wow!

July 13, 2013 1 min read

In the movie Dead Poets Society, Robin Williams tries to inspire one of his prep school students, Gerard Pitts, by saying: "Mr. Pitts, rise above your name!" Well, when it comes to health and fitness, I've had to rise above mine. My surname, Bovino, may sound like "good wine" (bo - vino), and there's a city of the same name in southern Italy, but that's not what it means in much of South America. It means "cattle" in Argentina, for example, where I saw Bovino on farms and in slaughterhouses. And as you can see from the photo above, it apparently means "beef" in Brazil, where I found Bovino on the menu at their equivalent of McDonalds. Nothing signifies health and fitness like a fat cow or a double cheeseburger. I rose above my name with the help of P90X and, more recently, Daily Hiit.  The same cannot be said of my bovine brothers and sisters, however. Most Bovino find P90X, Insanity, and other Beachbody DVD workout programs too hard, complicated, expensive, inconvenient or inaccessible.  They want something new, simple, free, and available wherever Bovino roam. http://youtu.be/IcfUtHN_qOk That's where the Daily Hiit comes in. To go from Cow to Wow!, more Bovino need to Hiit it. And I intend to bring in the herd. Just setting a good example won't cut it this time. I need to persuade other Bovino family members to follow my lead, and I will. Some folks are all talk and no action or - as they say in the South - all hat and no cattle. Not me. I'm all cattle, baby.
