Days 21 & 22: It's amazing how much of a difference yoga makes!

I can't believe how close we are to the end of the challenge! It feels like just the other day I was taking my before pictures and measurements, and getting excited to start. Now I'm this far in I actually can't imagine ever not working out. If you've got this far I'm really proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself too. There's only just over a week to go until we complete the challenge. The decision to take part in this challenge was one of the best I've ever made because, although I wasn't really out of shape before, I am noticing improvements in not just my physical appearance, but also my emotional state, and I feel so much more positive...like I can achieve anything. Although I exercised regularly before the 30 day challenge, it was never as hard as I have been doing for the last 22 days, and I love that I've managed to complete all of the workouts so far. It's such an amazing feeling after each workout. because-theres-nothing-like-the-feeling-after-a-hard-workout Yesterday, day 21, I was a little disheartened to see that the dance cardio routine was back as, although I love dancing as I said before, it didn't give me anywhere near as good a workout as the regular Daily Hiit workouts do. I was really happy to see another yoga flow though! Because I am behind on the workouts due to my tonsillitis I already had day 22 workout in my inbox, so I decided that I would do the day 22 workout followed by the day 21 yoga flow. It turned out to be a fantastic combination as day 22 kicked my butt, and then I was able to fully relax my muscles with the yoga afterwards. Perfect! My favourite exercise from day 22 was the twist. I was seriously shocked at how much it hurt to do! I watched Rita perform the movement so that I would know what to do, and was thinking "what good is that going to do for me?" When it came to actually doing it I couldn't believe how much it burned within just a few seconds though! This move is incredibly misleading, don't let yourself think it looks easy like I did because believe me, it's not. I really enjoyed this workout, and it left me gasping for breath at the end, so I know it was a good one. I will definitely be repeating this one when the challenge ends. The yoga flow was lovely, just what I needed after pushing myself hard on the workout. It relaxed my breathing right back to normal and I actually didn't ache like I normally do afterwards! Yoga is often underestimated, but it really is fantastic! It made me feel totally relaxed both physically and emotionally, and I actually cooled down so fast that I had to get a jumper during the flow. I love how it channels your energy, and leaves you feeling refreshed and happy. The yoga happiness on top of the workout endorphins have left me feeling pretty awesome! Yoga has so many benefits, and although I used to practise it regularly, I stopped due to financial reasons, but I will be searching for more of Teisha's flows after today. Important-Yoga-Postures12 I ate well again today: Breakfast: Porridge Lunch: Tomato soup Snack: Protein peanut butter cup Dinner: Chicken breast with pumpkin pie mash (from the Catching Fire guide) I've combined days 21 and 22 and made an amazing workout, and can't wait for tomorrow!
