Twenty-nine year old, Denise Bidot, made history at New York Fashion Week back in 2014, becoming the first plus-size model to walk the runway for two straight-size brands. Denise says it would be 'so cool to see someone really curvy and confident' on the Victoria's Secret runway, and she ‘would die to be the first.'
Earlier this year, the Puerto Rican and Kuwaiti plus-size model participated in an un-retouched swimwear campaign for SwimSuitsForAll. Denise not only confidently revealed her sexy curves but also shared her stretch marks and cellulite with the world. "It is about being confident in your own skin,” she says. She certainly embraces her own advice.

'We just need women to be empowered and to be kind to each other and to be kind to ourselves,' she said, adding, 'No one is going to love you the way you love yourself’ – ‘it is such a huge problem that women are so programmed to feel that only one way is beautiful.' Hopefully we’ll continue to see women of all sizes on the runway in the future. Current Victoria’s Secret models Elsa Hosk and Jac Jagaciak are on board with the movement.
We see thin models and plus-size models, but rarely anyone with an average body weight. 'There are so many women in between who need representation,’ says Denise.
'I think we are in a really good place,' she states. 'I have been working as a model for the past eight years and have seen how drastically things have changed.'
This young woman is definitely proving that confidence is the new sexy!Would you like to see Victoria's Secret have plus-size models walk the runway?
