Elle Australia's Cover Girl Is a Breastfeeding Model
Breastfeeding has been a hot topic recently as efforts to normalize the somewhat "stigma" in society of nursing in public. Gorgeous supermodel Nicole Trufino is posing on this month's cover of Elle Australia to encourage the #normalizebreastfeeding movement.
"There is nothing more powerful and beautiful than motherhood,” Nicole explains.
The picture perfect shot was decided on during the photoshoot, when Nicole's infant son Zion needed a feeding. Editor of Elle, Justine Cullen noticed the shot intermixed with the photos and chose it for the cover.
The breastfeeding hashtag has been used over 100,000 times on Instagram. Model Miranda Kerr and singer Pink have also shown their support for the movement.
The movement aims at promoting the health benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby, and to encourage the concept that it is a natural process for which women should feel comfortable with. Breastfeeding mothers shouldn't have to hide or feel ashamed to show their bodies, as nourishing your child is as old as time.
