Fitness Life Lesson Countdown #3: Quality, Not Quantity

At the gym where I go to work out, I see people there for up to 2 hours a day. They spend about an hour of that time working hard, and the rest of their time is spent chatting with the trainers, surfing their phones, and resting between sets. When I hit the gym, I'm there to get it done. I rest for exactly 30 seconds between each set, and I make sure to keep my heart rate up. With my weight training done, it's time for 20-minute HIIT sprints/running, and a 10-minute cool down. An hour after I arrive at the gym, I leave, drenched in sweat and feeling great. You don't NEED to spend an hour or three working out every day when a 20 to 30-minute HIIT session will do just as much. Make sure that you hit your workouts with just one goal in mind: QUALITY!
