Food Villains #19: Mall Food

If it's sold at the mall, what the heck are you doing eating it?! As unhealthy as it is, I love mall food! It's quick, it's easy, and for the first few minutes after you buy it, it's darn tasty! Let it sit for more than 15 minutes, however, and the food turns to greasy, stale, dough-heavy eats. Cinnamon, Wetzel's Pretzels, Hot Dog on a Stick, and all of the other mall treats may taste good, but there is almost ZERO nutritional value and TONS of calories. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="500"] Source: restaurantmagazine.com[/caption] For example, the classic Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll contains:
  •  880 calories
  • 36 grams of fat
  • 127 grams of carbs
  • 59 grams of sugar
Can you really afford to add all of that to your diet? The white flour, highly refined sugar, and other horrible nutrients in the mall food are DEFINITELY not what a healthy you should be eating, so it's time to wave goodbye to mall food once and for all. My advice: Never go to the mall hungry. (If you HAVE to eat something, go with Mongolian BBQ or Subway--both are somewhat healthy.)   Featured Image Source: cinnabon.com Resources: http://eatthis.menshealth.com/, http://www.cinnabon.com/media/21554/cinnabon_nutrition.pdf
