Foods to Avoid for Weight loss

Has your weight snuck up on you? Are you feeling a little more round or flabby than you’re okay with? Along with the right exercise, fine-tuning your diet can do wonders for your waistline. Here is a quick list of what to avoid and what to eat when you are trying to slim down. Avoid As Much As Possible:
  • Packaged chips, crisps, cookies, cakes, biscuits crackers and cereals.
  • Refined (aka ‘white’) anything: sugar, iodized table salt, bread, pasta, flour, etc.
  • Roasted and salted nuts and seeds
  • Conventionally raised meats (the stuff you normally find at supermarkets)
  • Supermarket Eggs (over 3 months old by the time you eat them)
  • Pasteurized milk products (milk, cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, ice cream)
  • Pastas, breads, muffins, cakes, cookies and other snacks (contain gluten)
  • ‘Microwave ready’ meals (pizza pops, Hungry Mans, etc)
  • Deep-fried foods (fish & chips, French fries, chips, breaded chicken)
  • ‘Just add water’ meals (gravies, sauces, noodle bowls and soups)
  • Candy
  • Pop/ Soda
  • Beef Jerky
  • Gatorades and Sports drinks
  • Tap water
  • Non-organic fruits and vegetables
Eat More Of These Foods:
  • Organic, wild, local fruits and vegetables
  • Raw, unsalted nuts, seeds and butters
  • Beans and legumes (ideally bought in dried form and cooked at home)
  • Gluten-free grains (quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, brown rice and millet)
  • Gluten-free breads or cracker (only on occasion but not everyday)
  • Wild, grass-fed, pasture-raised or organic meats
  • Wild caught fish from the safe list (below)
  • Raw, dairy from grass-fed animals (kefir, yogurt and cheese)
  • Raw, Virgin, Cold-Pressed, Biodynamic or Organic Oils
