Fran Drescher Wants To Rid Your Life Of Toxins. Here's Why You Should Pay Attention

Fran Drescher has been speaking up about cancer prevention. In 2000, at the age of 42, Drescher was diagnosed with uterine cancer and underwent and immediate radical hysterectomy. Two years later, and with a clean bill of health, she released her book Cancer Schmancer to tell her story and to educate. "I've managed to figure out how to make sense of it all by turning pain into purpose by sharing it with the world," she says. Drescher has made it her mission to improves women's healthy care through the creation of the  Cancer Schmancer Movement and Cancer Schmancer Foundation. The foundation and movement are dedicated to to early detection and prevention of cancer through healthy eating, exercise, and a toxin-free household. And it isn't like she's just some spokesperson, she actively participates in the movement. "The home is the most toxic place we spend the most time in, and ironically, you have the most control over it," she says. Time to throw a 'Detox Your Home' party. At these parties, women gather together to discuss and share Drescher's tips on cleaner food, personal care items and household products. Curious? Drescher suggests starting with the bathroom. Take a look at the products you use to clean your home and then try to simplify them. What does she use to clean and detox her home? "I use a counter spray that's half water, half white vinegar, and a squeee of lemon, and it works just as well as anything you can buy in the store," she says. When she wants the place to smell nice, she uses lavender plants or jasmine essential oils diluted with water. Smart AND toxin free!
