Frozen Plum Banana Smoothie

I bought a bunch of plums on sale at the Farmer's Market, then froze some of them in hopes that they would make delicious smoothies, and they did! Plums are juicy, sweet and come in a variety of colors. They can help to manage blood pressure, boost your bone health and improve memory! They are an excellent source of potassium and dietary fiber, contain Vitamins C, A, and K, and can help to regulate your digestive system.

Plums are used as a base in this recipe along with bananas, but you can substitute more plums for the bananas if you wish. This recipe came out amazing, and it looks even better!

- 4 frozen plums (make sure they are pitted!)

- 3 bananas (frozen, fresh or both)

- 3 sticks of celery

- 1/2 a large cucumber

- 2 handfuls spinach

- 1/2 tsp. spirulina

- 1 tbsp. wheatgrass, or fresh chopped wheatgrass

In your high-powered blender, add in the above ingredients, along with about 1 to 2 cups water for blending, and blend together! The plums and bananas give this smoothie an extra sweet taste, and the cucumber and spinach really mix well together.

Top with fresh or frozen blueberries, coconut or whatever else you desire. Enjoy!
