Good Fats Vs Bad Fats.

Fat has a pretty bad reputation in the dieting world. The truth is that not all fats are bad for you. In fact,  fat makes up an extremely important part of a healthy and balanced diet. Unfortunately, the point that is not highlighted often enough is what kinds of fats are healthy for you, and which ones are not. Simply put, fat can be healthy (monosaturated and polysaturated) or unhealthy (saturated and trans). So what are some healthy fats? This is the part that excites me because healthy fats are delicious!
  • Olive Oil
  • Flaxseed Oil
  • sesame Oil
  • Seeds & Nuts
  • Olives
  • Peanut Butter
  • Almond Butter
  • Fish (Salmon, mackerel)
  • Avocado
  • Eggs (yolks included)
  • Dark Chocolate (at least 70% + Cocoa)
  What Fats are unhealthy?
  • Fatty meats
  • Lard
  • Most Dairy (Butter, cream, full milk, ice-cream)
  • Deep fried foods
  • Sweets and pastries (doughnuts, cakes, muffins)
  • Packaged snacks (chips, crackers)
  Food producer are eager to sell us everything in a ‘no fat’ or ‘low fat’ version and the most annoying part of this is that in most cases these products are promoting the unhealthy fats that I wouldn’t dare eat in the first place.
