Hi Lisa,
.
After seeing loads of recipes for energy bars/balls I finally decided to hop on the bandwagon with my own creation.
.
These are no bake and I decided to call them Power Spoons (I formed the balls using two teaspoons).
'
Ingredients:
.
Coconut flakes
Low fat pure cocoa powder
Ground almonds (with skin)
Oat Bran (at least that's what I think it is in English, in Germany we have this Haferkleie, which is sort of a mix of oat gruel and oat straw-the skin covering the oats)
Cranberries or other dried no sugar added fruit chopped into small pieces
Coconut oil
Agave syrup
Chia seeds
Steel cut oats
.
.
I kinda eyeballed the amounts of all ingredients.
.
The dry ones are roughly equal parts, a handful of the dried fruit, and I'd say less than 1/4 cup of agave, plus two three tablespoons of the oil..
.
I chilled them in the fridge in a Tupperware container lined with baking paper.
.
The taste is great, even if the texture is a bit sandy. I figure next time I've got the munchies this is definitely the best option.
