Healthy High Fat Foods To Eat More Of #2: Avocadoes

I love avocadoes! After spending time in Mexico and seeing how avocadoes are added to sandwiches, soups, and even lemonades, I've grown accustomed to the delicious fruit--even though I hated it when young. Avocadoes are one of the best high-fat foods to eat, and they're LOADED with healthy nutrients. Every 100 grams of avocado contains:
  • 160 calories
  • 11.8 grams of unsaturated fats
  • 2.1 grams of saturated fat

Avocadoes contain a wide range of carotenoids--important antioxidants. The fats in avocadoes help to reduce inflammation in the body, particularly in cases of arthritis. The fruits contain plant sterols that can fight heart disease. Oleic acid--the same fatty acids found in olive oil--is found in avocadoes, and can lower your risk of heart attacks. Avocadoes can also support cardiovascular health, regulate your blood sugar, and even fight cancer to a limited extent. Definitely a good reason to eat more avocadoes!
