Healthy High Fat Foods To Eat More Of #9: Flax Seeds

Flax seeds are an odd health food. It's just one of those things that you always find in your kitchen, but you rarely use them and have no idea how they got there. Turns out, that little-used seed is a lot healthier than you might think! Flaxseeds contain more fiber than most of the other seeds, with 27 grams of fiber per 100 grams of seeds. In 100 grams of flax seeds, you also get:
  • 534 calories
  • 37 grams of unsaturated fats
  • 3.7 grams of saturated fat

Flaxseed oil is a far less odious alternative to fish oil, and you'll find that the health benefits it offers are numerous:
  • Prevent hypertension
  • Fighting skin cancer
  • Reducing your risk of depression and other emotional disorders
  • Prevent liver disease
  • Lowering cholesterol level
  • Assisting in the fight against prostate cancer
Time to sprinkle those seeds into your cereal and see what they can do!
