"Eating meat may have kick-started the evolution of bigger brains, but cooked starchy foods together with more salivary amylase genes made us smarter still," the researchers of the study noted. So what does this mean for paleo lovers? Simply put, it is more of a diet choice than a lifestyle based off of exact history, as our ancestors didn't completely throw carbs to the side.
