Here's What Thigh Gaps Looked Like in 1945
We have hit on the controversial topic of "thigh gaps" before, yet we still see #thinspo images floating around praising the attribute as well as poorly photoshopped company ads.
This society is screwing up the future of our little girls. Studies have shown that by age 11, little girls are already looking at and judging themselves by their bodies. #thinspo should be banned, but sadly our society likes to praise these false signs of beauty.
I came across these photos last week and they are so inspiring, I had to share.
THIS is what thigh gaps looked like in 1945. THESE ladies are beauty contestants.
No thigh gaps in sight. Not a single one.
From left to right, we have 1945 beauty queens Lee M. Wieland (Miss Chicago), Barbara Lee Smith (Miss Detroit), Bess Myerson (Miss New York City), Phyllis Mathis (Miss San Diego), Gloria Naomi Bair (Miss Philadelphia), Claire Thibadeau (Miss Boston), and Frances Lanell Dorn (Miss Birmingham). Pretty amazing, isn't it?
Thigh gaps or not, who cares?
Now, go have an awesome day!
