This HIIT Workout Can Burn More Calories Than Running

Torching calories doesn't require special equipment or super heavy weights. You can become a calorie crushing machine using just your own body with this 20 minute workout! The only thing required for this hard-hitting workout is determination to succeed. The workout is categorized as high-intensity interval training or HIIT. It is comprised of quick, demanding high intensity circuit training with short rest periods. Exercise One: Burpees  Complete as many as you can in 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and continue this pattern for 5 minutes. Exercise Two: Push-Ups Complete as many as you can in 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and continue this pattern for 5 minutes. Exercise Three: Squats  Complete as many as you can in 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and continue this pattern for 5 minutes. Exercise Four: Lunges  Complete as many as you can in 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and continue this pattern for 5 minutes. A study conducted by the University of Wisconsin found that participants who practiced this circuit burned 15 calories per minute. This is because of the increase in metabolic activity which is spurred on by this style of workout. The study concluded that this workout is a more effective calorie burner than running, and it is a time-saver.
