How Green Tea Can Help Your Junk Food Cravings
Thirty-year-old, Samantha Rees dropped eight dress sizes in 12 months by adding green tea to her diet.
As a single mother of two, Samantha Rees had reached 243lbs and realized she needed to do something about her unhealthy lifestyle if she was going to be around to see her children grow up.
After hearing that green tea was a “superfood” that boosts the metabolism, Samantha quickly added it to her daily routine, and started drinking 9 cups a day. It’s considered a superfood because it’s rich in antioxidants which help prevent disease and can help reduce cravings.
'I thought it was one of those crazy fads that people get obsessed with - but for me, it really worked,’ Samantha states.
In addition to drinking tea, Samantha also cut her calorie count, making smarter meal choices instead of the usual greasy pizzas, chocolate bars and biscuits.
She didn’t even like tea at first, but persevered in hopes it would help. 'That first cup of green tea tasted so bitter, I had to force it down,' she jokes.
Her perseverance paid off when she lost 14lbs in the first month, motivating her to continue the plan.
Her routine - drink one green tea every hour, on the hour - and within a year she lost 113lbs.
'Now my cups of green tea get me through the day. For me it's not a fad - it's a lifestyle,” she says.
Are you inspired enough to try it for yourself?
