How Pets Affect Our Health
Stress comes in many different forms. It can show itself through weight gain, weight loss or even more serious issues surround mental health. But getting a pet can make all the difference in the world and help change these problems! Getting a furry (or scaly or feathery) friend can create positive changes in your life! Here are 3 ways that prove pets are great at helping with stress.
1) Healthy Habits
While any animal can encourage changes in your lifestyle, this is mostly seen through dog owners. The daunting change of having to wake up early and let them out every morning comes with getting a puppy. And now having to make sure our furry friends get enough exercise changes daily routines. Getting more exercise and playing with those new friends will always bring a smile to your face! And who doesn't love smiling?
2) Pets = Best Friends
We all need someone sometimes, and our pets are always there for a cuddle when we need it most! Walking in the door and getting greeted by a puppy hug or a chirp from a bird will make coming home all the more fun. There is always someone there!
3) Assistance and therapeutic aspects!
Dogs have, for a long time now, been used as assistance animals for those who are blind. Now, they are used to help owners with many different types of disabilities ranging from autism to seizures. Pets can help us through our toughest times and are not only assisting with the physical issues but emotional as well. Therapy animals have become a real thing and range from birds to horses.
Pets can help in a range of different ways. Sometimes we all need a little bit of puppy lovin' to lower our stress!
