Human Barbie

March 06, 2014 2 min read

Valeria Lukyanova, Russian model and singer, and recent internet sensation is known as the Human Barbie, and I think you can see why. humanbarbie6 I apologize in advance that the majority of this blog will just be images. The reason for that is, well, you’ll understand when you see the pictures, but really – a picture says a thousand words, right? humanbarbie10 Also, for a “da fuq I just watch?” moment, check out the trailer to the VICE documentary about her, entitled “Space Barbie” With a 50cm waist, and flawless features there have been several articles about her plastic surgery usage, but Lukyanova claims that the only cosmetic surgery she has undergone was breast implants, and that her look is achieved by exercise, a liquid diet, contact lenses, and make-up. humanbarbie8   humanbarbie4 She hopes to achieve “food nihilism” – in one interview stating that her ultimate goal is to be powered by solar energy. She also recently said that she is attempting a breatharian diet, surviving off of light and air, a practice that many have starved to death while undertaking. humanbarbie7 She also claims to be an out of body traveler and an extraterrestrial spirit, in "Space Barbie" explaining: "The aim of my life is to come to this planet to help people realize that it is necessary to move from the role of the 'human consumer' to the role of 'human demi-god.' Everything is love, love is God. I am you, and you are me." If she’s an out of body traveler, maybe that’s why her gaze is always so vacant. humanbarbie11 There have been many rumours of surgery conspiracies, alien conspiracies, before and after picture videos, and basically just a huge buzz of internet interest into the life of Valeria Lukyanova. The most extensive collection of the Human Barbie articles that I’ve been able to find are here. humanbarbie3 Whether she’s a demigod, a negative role model for young gods, a time traveling alien, a sufferer of body dysmorphic disorder, a fitness addict, or a psychic spiritual guru, she’s certainly interesting.
