Are you Gluten intolerant?
Do you feel sick, bloated, tired, sluggish or have terrible stomach cramps after consuming foods which contain Gluten?
Do you suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)?
Do you often get headaches or migraines?
Do you suffer with dizziness, weakness or fatigue?
If you have answered yes to most of the above the chances are you have an allergy to Gluten!
The best way to check this for certain is to visit your doctor and ask for a blood test...
The blood test is not always conclusive so don't feel disheartened if the results come back negative!
You can always try cutting back or cutting Gluten out completely for a period of time and measure your results from start to finish....
You could write a diary of symptoms and whether they improve or not and try this over a measurable amount of time!
Cutting Gluten out of your diet is much easier than it used to be and is becoming quite a common trend as people begin to learn of their intolerances!
Unfortunately I suffer from IBS and have a Gluten allergy and for most part I cut Gluten out of my diet!
If I consume any food with Gluten I know to expect some horrible uncomfortable side effects and they are not nice!
Going Gluten free means checking all my foods, packaging of anything I buy and researching to find alternatives!
Even items such as sauces, dressings, sweets, chocolate or meats in marinade etc... Can contain Gluten!
Read labels carefully!
Most supermarkets now have a special isle just for people with allergies to certain foods so you can still enjoy your favourite things!
When eating out, most restaurants will now indicate on their menu whether they offer a Gluten free option or if in doubt ask your waitress for exact meal options that are Gluten Free - DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK!!!
But please please note:
- Going Gluten free is a lifestyle choice!
- It is not an excuse to eat less or eat badly!
- Keeping a well balanced and highly nutritious, varied diet, is REALLY important!
I hope some of this helped and if you have any questions please just ask
Love Gem xxxxx
P.S - The pizza in my photo IS Gluten Free and from Domino's
