The Incredible Workout That Kerry Washington Swears By!

Stunning on the cover of Self's September issue, Kerry Washington displays her envy-worthy figure. The Scandal star may be naturally blessed with a petite frame and beautiful bone structure, but she doesn't slack when it comes to hitting the gym. Waking up before the sun, Kerry gets her sweat sessions in before 6:30 am. She sneaks home from the gym to greet her just-waking one-year-old, Isabelle, and starts her day. Despite the early mornings, Kerry is devoted to getting back into pre-baby shape. So what workouts does the 38-year-old actress swear by? "There are a lot of forms of exercise where you have to leave yourself out of the room while you force yourself to do this thing." she explains. "With Pilates, I get to bring my true self. I cry, I laugh. I get to go: Where is my body today? What do I need today? How can I take care of myself and push myself past my comfort zone?" Kerry loves the fitness system which continually challenges her. She hits the Pilates studio 6 times a week. Pilates improve flexibility, balance, core strength and muscle tone. The workouts focus on breathing and meditation, which provide stress-relief along with physical benefits.
