Insanely Cool Photos That Capture Sugar Content in Popular Drinks

August 12, 2015 2 min read

A food photographer has put some photos together to help you see what Zico coconut water, Snapple, and Coca Cola, and other drinks with high sugar look like when they are distilled – Are you ready to be shocked?   We all know that sugary drinks are bad for us, but how many of us have ignored that statement? Sometimes we all want to satisfy that sweet tooth! Now that Henry Hargreaves, a food photographer, has captured these images, it may be quite hard to ignore that nutrition label. Hargreaves wanted to create more of a visual for people who thought that a soda here and there is fine. The photographer started by boiling water in each of the bottles and cans, and he left nothing but the colorful “goop” that he poured into different molds. After seeing the following photos, you may stray away from sugary drinks forever!   Coca Cola coke-hh-lollipops   Monster monster-lollipop-sugar-hh The Monster energy drink has a huge sugar problem with a sugar content of a whopping 52 grams!     Jarritos jarritos-hh-lollipops_0 This is a Mexican soda that has approximately 29 grams of sugar.     Mountain Dew mountain-dew-hh-lollipop This is a popular soda that is a favorite of many. But will it be your favorite anymore, especially when you find out it has 77 grams of sugar!   Powerade powerade-hh-lollipop Did you think that a sports drink would make it to the list? While the sugar content isn't as high as most of these drinks, it is still right up there with 37.5 grams.   Vitamin Water vitamin-water-hh-lollipops Say what? Something that we all think is supposed to be healthy for us? It's time for reality, though. This so called "vitamin water" has 33 grams of sugar in each bottle. Clearly they need to change their name!   Source: Shape Do you follow us on Instagram? [caption id="attachment_104005" align="alignnone" width="100"]snapchat code @BodyRockTV[/caption]
