Is "Crunning" The Next Weird Fitness Craze?

A whole new way of exercising has emerged in the Chinese city of Zhengzhou and has now started to take over Australia. Similar to crawling, crunning is a whole different way to get your sweat on! It looks odd but it might just work! Crunning involves a crawl like running motion. Keeping your knees off the ground, you run, using your hands to propel you forward. We're exhausted just thinking about it! images (1) Shaun McCarthy, from Northcote in Victoria started the Crunning Facebook page a few weeks back and believes this movement could really take off. He believes that the cult-like popularity and success of fitness movements like cross-fit, has opened up the door and made people more comfortable trying different, unconventional, outside the box, sorts of workouts. McCarthy believes crunning is better than running because, "it’s an opportunity to exercise your upper body as well as your lower body. After half a kilometre you’re slaughtered. It’s really good for the thighs I’ve found. I’m really bulking out,” he said. You certainly wouldn’t want to do it barehanded." We can imagine why! crunning-sanggup-melatih-bagian-atas-dan-bawah-tubuh-sekaligus-_151122000837-942 At the moment, McCarthy just goes crunning with some friends but he hopes the trend takes off internationally. Have you seen any crunning while rocking your outdoor workouts? It certainly, on the surface, seems like it would be an insanely difficult and effective workout. What do you think? Are you brave enough to give it a shot? Source: Mind Body Green All images: Crunning/Facebook
