Kate Moss' Career Making Calvin Klein Campaign Ruined Her First Love
Before she became world famous, Kate Moss was a waif like English model just trying to make it in the world with her Italian photographer boyfriend Mario Sorrenti. At least that was the case before Calvin Klein entered the picture.
"Calvin was clever; he saw from the pictures that it was obsession, and it really was an obsession," she told photographer Nick Knight regarding the massive amount of photos Sorrenti was snapping of her. The brand saw their chance and had the two of them live together in a small house in order to shoot pics until their hearts were content.
Artistically, it was a success. The famous 1992 couch photo was used in an Obsession For Men campaign. Unfortunately, this arrangement was not a personal success. The mix of personal and professional didn't work for Moss and Sorrenti. The two split with Moss saying, "When you're in a relationship with a photographer and they start abusing that relationship and being like, 'I want you to do this, and I want you to do that,' it makes you go, 'No.' I didn't want to work all the time."
