Kendall Jenner: "I Will Always Love My Dad, Whether He's a Man or a Woman"
We spend a lot of time championing physical and emotional changes, especially as they result to the process of getting fitter, faster, stronger and leaner. We've celebrated people losing handfuls of fat, shedding layers of insecurity as they drop pounds. When you take your first steps towards physical transformation through fitness, every aspect of your life has the potential to be positively changed.
Change is undeniably difficult, it forces us to step out of our comfort zones. It can push those close to us to examine their own choices around food and activities that can cause friction. Imagine taking that to the next level - transitioning not from a size 12 to a size 4, or skipping family pizza night, but making the ultimate physical change - transitioning to a different gender. It's change on a magnitude that many of us don't have any kind of direct experience with.
Kendall Jenner has undoubtedly been supporting father Bruce Jenner behind the scenes, but now she's publicly throwing her support behind her dad.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, the 19-year-old model finally spoke out about his rumored gender transition and what she had to say was truly touching.
"I love my dad. He's always been there for me and my sisters," she told them. "He's a wonderful man. And just because he's changing shoes now, so to speak, doesn't make him less wonderful. I will always love my dad, whether he's a man or a woman."
It's not our place to judge if this is the right or wrong decision for Bruce Jenner to make. No one knows what it's like to live within his existence. I personally cannot fathom confronting a decision to make such a profound change. I can only imagine that it requires a lot of courage. I will say this. It's very difficult to accept change, and whatever else anyone might think about Bruce or Kim or the Kardashian clan as a whole, we have nothing but love for Kendall Jenner for stepping up and showing unconditional love for her father.
