Kerry Washington Doesn't Want To Hear Talk About Her Body Being "Back" After Baby

Kerry Washington gave birth to her first child last year and she doesn't want to hear that her body is 'back' because as she so aptly puts it, it isn't about going backwards in life. In the September 2015 issue of Self magazine she says, “A few weeks ago, my manager asked: ‘Do you feel like you’re back? I feel like you’re back.' She meant it as a total compliment, but we had this great conversation where I was like, ‘You know what? I try really hard not to use that language, because it’s not about going backward in life.’” kerry washington She goes on to say, “I’ve been really focused on not being ‘back’ to anything, but being the best version of myself right now. My body is the site of a miracle now. I don’t want to be pre-miracle.” To me, this sounds like a beautiful and healthy attitude to take with such an incredible, and beautiful, life change. When it comes down to it, your body IS different after giving birth so why even try to pretend otherwise? Why such a positive change has happened in your life, why would you even try to define yourself the way you did before? What do you think?
