Kill it With Cardio #5: Rowing

If only more gyms had rowing machines! The larger gyms (Gold's Gym, 24 Hour Fitness, Life Time Fitness, etc.) may have rowing machines, but the smaller gyms often skip out on these machines in favor of elliptical machines, treadmills, and stationary bikes. But if your gym has one of these bad boys, THAT'S where you should be spending your cardio time. The motion of rowing makes for one heck of a full body workout. Your lats, biceps, forearms, deltoids, lower back, glutes, thighs, hamstrings, and calves are all engaged as you row, so you end up shredding muscle while hitting your cardio hard. • Going at a slow pace with light intensity will burn between 200 and 350 calories per hour
  • Up the pace and the intensity, and you start to burn between 400 and 800 calories per hour
  • Go full on and hit the rowing hard, and you can burn up to 1,100 calories in a single hour
Definitely one of the best types of cardio around--it builds muscle while giving your heart and lungs an awesome workout!
