Loey Lane, Tess Holliday: Strong Women Changing "Bikini Body" Standards

Vlogger Loey Lane has made it known that she is not ashamed of her body, and won't let hateful comments make her think any different. The plus-sized Youtuber has had her "Why Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Bikinis" video viewed over 4 million times. The clip was filmed as a response to rude and body-shaming comments made about her figure by internet trolls who strongly believe in a certain body standard for bathing suits. Loey's powerful video joins the ranks of plus-size model Tess Holiday, who starred in an ad campaign for Simply Be. The ad features Tess answering the popular prompt, "How to get a bikini body" by, well, putting on a bikini. Tess is an advocate for body positivity in all shapes and sizes, and as she lands big name contracts and begins to dominate mainstream ads, we think her voice will definitely be heard.
